In a rotary-plate compressor Gardner Denver compression is achieved due to the fact that the centrifugal force pushes the blades out of the grooves, forming separate compression chambers. When the cells move around the stator, the trapped air is compressed and ejected from the compression zone. These compressors provide up to 100,000+ hours of operation thanks to a simple integrated design. All of them have a direct drive with a shock-absorbing clutch. This eliminates the need for step-up gears and belts with excessive tension.
